Winter Makeup Tips + Inspo
Hey bold babe!
Today I’m going to share my top tips for perfect winter makeup and some inspirations with a few of my favorite looks. Many of these tips are especially for those with very fair skin like myself because let’s face it- we struggle with that winter pale skin! But even so, these tips can definitely be used by anyone! So let’s get into it!
*But first! Speaking of winter.. if you are interested in this blog post, I bet you’d love my winter makeup capsule! It’s the perfect makeup capsule for minimalists or even for those who just want to freshen up their collection for winter! You can check it out by clicking here! *

My first tip is definitely skincare! Of course this is a year round thing but if you’re like me then your skin gets even more crazy dry during the winter so if I don’t keep up on my skincare, things can get bad! The moisturizer I love and use daily is the Milk creme from Seint. I use it every night and every morning before I do my makeup. It’s a life saver! Also from that line, I love the Masque for an awesome but gentle exfoliator (I use it once a week) Along with my face, my lips are prone to get dry and chapped when it’s cold so I love using a lip scrub occasionally and the lip conditioner from Seint- seriously it’s so moisturizing and the moisture actually lasts a long time! (I love the Mint one)

My next tip is making sure you’re wearing the right makeup shades. Most of us aren’t the same colors and tones year round yet we often don’t update our makeup through the seasons. Updating your shades will make sure you don’t come off looking orange or pink and will look way more natural. If you have wondered what your perfect foundation, contour, and blush shades are- take my quiz! I have matched hundreds of women over the last 4 years and I’d love to help you! With Seint Beauty, you can know for sure you have the best shades for your face all in one minimal and customized palette.

The third tip is to utilize bronzer to warm things up and help smooth the transition of different foundation shades. Yes things can go very wrong with bronzer if you have the wrong shade and use too much/don’t blend in very well! I was super hesistant to use bronzer for the longest time because I’m so fair and honestly didn’t know how to apply it. I started to use the Bella bronzer from Seint and fell in love! It just looks like an instant natural tan without the orange or yellow tones and definitely without the shimmer (seriously why are so many bronzers out there shimmer?!) A little goes a long way with Bella bronzer so it lasts me quite a while. I have applied it either all over my face as sort of a tinted base before my foundation or just after in the traditional way (upper forehead, temples, upper cheekbones, and bridge of nose)

Fourth tip is to avoid too dark and cool of shades if you're fair. I won't lie that I love doing a plum lip or smokey eye on occasion but I have found that especially during winter: cool and dark shades of lip, blush, and eyeshadow just don't look flattering on my fair skin. This doesn't necessarily mean that I go for bright pinks and summery colors, I try to stick to warmer tones like rust, gold's, mauvy pinks, and neutral browns. Even though it's winter, don't be afraid to rock a bright pink, red or peach lip!

The fifth tip I have for you is if you do want to do a cool smokey eye, keep the blush a natural nude and the lips neutral or a medium red. Also alternatively, I love a bold/dark lip with lighter neutral eyes (see examples below) I feel like this tip helps keep things balanced and simple!

The final tip for you is to opt for a setting spray rather than a setting powder which could dry out your skin more. A great setting spray like Stay will help your makeup stay put through the cold outings outside and mask wearing! If you're oily skinned, try using it before your makeup as a primer!
Please keep in mind these are meant to be tips and ideas not rules! Makeup is such a creative expression and personal art so at the end of the day, do your makeup the way you like and feel most confident! (If that also means not wearing any at all then that's perfect too!) Below are a few winter makeup inspirations for you! All of these looks were created with Seint (Maskcara) Beauty products which you can shop here! I don't have a tutorial for the last natural look but I just used a light brush for highlight and contour and used just a tiny bit of summer love+ballerina on my cheeks and lips. For my eyes, I kept it simple with just 2 light and neutral shades!
