An Everyday Winter Makeup Routine For Fair Skin

An Everyday Winter Makeup Routine For Fair Skin

Winter can be… tough when you have super fair skin. It can be hard to avoid looking washed out or pale or have your foundation look too yellow or orange or pink. I struggled with winter makeup for years until I finally found a routine that really worked and made me feel beautiful in my fair skin! So today I want to walk you through my easy everyday winter makeup routine for fair skin in hopes that you can feel confident in your skin too! I’m going to break it down into the steps I take when doing my makeup and share the corresponding products and tips I’d recommend. So hopefully that keeps everything organized and making sense! (If you’d rather watch a quick tutorial for this winter makeup instead, click here!)

STEP ONE- EYES

While I don’t think it matters if you start with eyes or not, I often do so that any fall out can be easily wiped away. When it comes to my skin-tone and preferences, I like to stick with a neutral/warm palette with Seint Beauty eye shadows. Especially during the winter, I feel like neutral and warm shades help brighten my eyes and keep my overall look soft and natural. So for this look I started with Drift as my base, Bubba in the corners and crease, and then Soulmate in the center.

Sometimes I do like wearing traditional black eyeliner, however, for a quick everyday look, I go with something more subtle. So for a soft and natural looking liner, I just take a medium brown eye shadow like Basic and a small dense brush to apply a liner under my eye and in the very outer corner on top.

And finally, I fill in my brows also using a Seint Beauty eye shadow. I like using eye shadow because I feel like it’s really easy and forgiving to work with and ends up looking really natural. I like to use a slightly darker shade than my brow color and Bird is perfect for that! I use a small slant edge brush and just follow the natural shape of my brow to define the shape.

STEP TWO- SELF TANNER

Next up for this everyday winter makeup routine for fair skin is applying a self tanner! Obviously the biggest hurdle fair-skinned people have in winter is not having that summer glow. I have tried a few different self-tanning products and haven’t really loved any for my face. So I started to apply a cream bronzer all over my face before applying my makeup and I love how it looks! I use Bella bronzer from Seint and it’s such an easy, safe, and fast way to get an instant face tan. So I use the bronzer brush to apply it then move on to the rest of my look!

STEP THREE- SPOT CONCEALING

Alright now is the time where I do either spot concealing or color correcting. Usually for just an everyday quick look, I just do a little concealing with a darker highlight (in this case Aura). I use a smaller dense brush for this part. One of my biggest tips for any skin-tone is to use more than one shade of highlight (foundation). Most people are not a single perfect tone over their whole face which is why sometimes you can’t get the coverage you want or the finish doesn’t seem to match. I use 3 different shades. A darker one for concealing, a main shade for all-over, and a light one for brightening. (For help getting the perfect shade match for your skin-tone, take my free shade match quiz!)

STEP FOUR- MAIN COVERAGE

Once I’m done with spot coverage, I take a medium-dense/medium-size brush to apply my main highlight all over. I am using the other side of the brush I used to apply my bronzer. For my main shade I use White Peach and it is my favorite foundation shade for fair skin I have ever used! It is such a good shade for very fair skin tones because it doesn’t come off yellow or orange or pink.

STEP FIVE- CONTOUR

Now I’m going to switch to the Buff brush to apply contour. I think many people especially those with fair skin are hesitant to wear contour because they’re afraid it will look unnatural or dark. While that can be true, if you have the right shade and technique, contour is a great asset to your makeup look. Applying contour can help define your face shape and create flattering shadows and dimension. I use Ash contour and I love it because it’s a pretty neutral shade- not too warm and not too cool.

STEP SIX- LIP+BLUSH

One of the last and most vital steps of this everyday winter makeup routine for fair skin is adding COLOR to your face! Even if you don’t love wearing blush or lipstick, you can still add just a dab of color in a super natural way. Using a cream two-in-one product like the ones from Seint makes this step super easy. Try a light pink or peach shade and just had a few “dabs” to your upper cheekbones with your finger. Then use a medium dense brush to blend it seamlessly into your skin. For me, I am loving Wildflower lately!

Another perk to these all in one makeup palettes is that I can have several options of lip/cheeks right there ready for whatever look I want on a given day. And since they are a cream product and easy to access, they are super easy to mix together for even more options of shades! For this look, I ended up mixing three different shades (Wildflower, Ballerina, and Renaissance) to try and get the look I wanted.

STEP SEVEN- BRIGHTENING HIGHLIGHT

Okay the final step! Adding a brightening highlight can make such a big difference in such a small way! For this I use Moonlit and I add it to the outer corners and inner corner on my eyes, down the center of my nose, and on the center of my upper lip. This just adds that little bit of interest that can take your makeup look to the next level.

Alright that’s it! I realize all these exact products and steps may not work for everyone but if you’ve been looking for an everyday winter makeup routine for fair skin that give this a try!
